The course builder is the most important feature in course creation software. In Kajabi, courses are made of individual blocks of content, which are organized into lessons. These lessons are then grouped into separate chapters. Overall, we found Kajabi’s course builder to be intuitive, but not recommended for beginners.

Within your lessons, also known as “posts” in Kajabi, you can upload different types of multimedia – images, video, links, assessments, and code. Kajabi also lets you add a poster image & downloadable files, adjust comment visibility, and add automations.

Automations are pathways based on “when” and “then”. For example, when a student finishes a post or lesson, you can then automatically send them a coupon or to a “Congratulations” page.

As seen above, Kajabi’s aesthetic is clean and organized. However, you cannot edit how the elements of your course are arranged on the screen. You would have to choose a different theme if you want a different organization pattern.

One disadvantage of Kajabi is that once you upload your files, you cannot edit them within the platform. Therefore, we recommend making any edits to your files before you upload them.

Kajabi has a few features that make it easier to interpret comments and properly respond. For example, you can manage the comments in your dashboard by selecting those that are unread, read, and deleted. Kajabi also lets you look at the context of a comment. You can click a link that will bring you to the post that any comment was made on.

With Kajabi, you can use pre-built website themes, or upload your own themes. Kajabi offers templates of many pages including a 404 page, biography page, and thank you page. Kajabi also offers features not found in most course creation software – separate desktop and mobile layout design, animation and time reveal for elements, and the ability to add social icons to any page.
