LearnWorlds was founded in 2014 by Panos Slozos. LearnWorlds’ vision is to create learning products that provoke authentic, comprehensive, continuous, creative, and challenging learning experiences. Today, LearnWorlds has over 80 employees and is based in Cyprus.
LearnWorlds is a course creation software solution that helps you create, sell, and promote your online courses. LearnWorlds includes both core and advanced features like course & site builders, lesson scheduling, student feedback, gamification, affiliate management, a sales tracker, and key integrations with platforms like Mailchimp, Shopify, Zapier, and Zoom. LearnWorlds’ application is robust and offers a high level of customization. As a result, it has a steeper learning curve compared to more basic solutions like Thinkific and Teachable.
LearnWorlds’ most popular plan costs $299 a month. This is comparable to other advanced solutions like Kajabi. However, it also offers very attractive entry plans that start at $29 per month.
For more successful course creators, the cost of LearnWorlds is worthwhile – its advanced features enable greater customization and scale than simpler alternatives. We recommend LearnWorlds if you value a professionally designed website, and the ability to fully customize your courses.

Below, we will discuss the key features of LearnWorlds. We will also include screenshots of the product to give you an idea of its design and architecture.
The course builder is the most important feature included in course creation platforms. The LearnWorlds course builder comes with a wider range of customization options than any other solution in the market – for example, the ability to include eBooks, gamification, and YouTube videos in your courses. Since it’s more advanced, LearnWorlds does have a steeper learning curve than alternatives.
Courses in LearnWorlds are made up of content blocks that are organized into lessons, and then chapters. LearnWorlds lets you upload different multimedia forms into lessons – video, audio, PDF, links, and code. You can also add quizzes and assignments.
As seen above, each activity or lesson will take up your students' entire screens. LearnWorlds offers limited customization capabilities in terms of how your lessons appear in the course player. Most of the available customizations involve choosing whether or not to display elements like course titles and buttons.
Learnworlds offers an in-platform assignments feature. These provide insight into how well your students are handling your course material, and give you an opportunity to share individual feedback. Assignments in LearnWorld are open-ended questions that you can grade. A disadvantage of this feature is that students are not able to upload files – they can only attach images or URLs.
Quizzes & Exams
LearnWorlds offers both quizzes and exams. Many of the quiz and exam capabilities found in LearnWorlds are not included in other platforms. For example, LearnWorlds allows you to choose from a wider set of quiz question types, and offers advanced exam settings like a timer, exam attempt limits, and the option to show exam mistakes to students.
Quizzes are shorter than exams, and primarily used to provide feedback to students while they’re completing a lesson. Quizzes in LearnWorlds are not graded.
As seen above, you can choose whether your quiz questions are:
- Multiple choice
- True or false
- A poll
- Short answer
- Text with feedback
In contrast, Exams are longer than quizzes, and primarily used to measure how well students have learned course content. Exam questions in LearnWorlds can be multiple choice, or true or false.
Additional exam settings in LearnWorlds include:
- Setting a timer for how long an exam will last
- Setting a max number of exam attempts
- Notifying students before they submit
- Showing the mistakes a student makes
- Offering a downloadable file
- Automatically moving to the next question after a student answers
- Set a passing grade, which can unlock subsequent course materials for your students
Gamification can be added to your courses to increase learner engagement and make online learning interactive. One of the most common gaming mechanics is rewards. Examples of rewards are badges, points, and other awards that fuel motivation and provide a sense of accomplishment.
In LearnWorlds, rewards are offered in the form of badges. Students can earn these through specific achievements like being a new member, making comments, performing social actions, and answering polls.
Designing courses for those with different accessibility needs is the best way to ensure that your courses are inclusive to all students. LearnWorlds offers these accessibility features:
- Closed captioning
- Text transcripts for videos
- Alt text
Additional Course Editing Features
LearnWorlds lets you add custom branding to your website, and translate your site and courses into nine languages besides English.
LearnWorld’s custom branding is limited – you can only upload a logo, favicon and change the color scheme & font. The languages LearnWorlds lets you translate your site and courses into include:
- Chinese (traditional)
The next step after creating your course is delivering it to your students. LearnWorlds includes features that help schedule your course content, teach live classes, and support student interactions.
Drip schedules are used by instructors to publish certain sections of their courses at specific times. With LearnWorlds, you can choose to deliver your course content based on a number of days or weeks after student enrollment, or on any date (regardless of student enrollment). LearnWorlds also lets you write an email to notify students when course material is released.
LearnWorlds will only let you choose one drip method for all of your course sections. For example, you cannot choose one section to be released based upon days after student enrollment, and then another section to be released on a specific date.
However, LearnWorlds does let you customize specific drip methods and times for individual students. This is beneficial if a student needs a different learning schedule than other students.
Live classes are a great way to create an engaging learning environment. Live classes in LearnWorlds are delivered via Zoom webinars. Overall, we found the live classes feature in LearnWorlds to be user friendly – other platforms require basic coding knowledge to perform live classes.
Some of the features LearnWorlds lets you customize include:
- Adding a description
- Adding a date and time
- Adding duration
- Adding a password
- Auto recording
- Adding a Q&A function
- Adding downloadable files
LearnWorlds offers an in-platform feature that supports student discussions, which increases student engagement and helps build a community. Overall, LearnWorlds offers superior discussion functionality compared to leading alternatives.
You and your students can reply to comments made in lessons and attach either a URL, image, or poll. Students can also react and delete comments. As an instructor, you can choose who can add comments, where posts are shared, and create discussion groups.
Once you’ve made your courses, you need to find the best method to market them. Learnworlds offers a site builder, and additional marketing tools like coupons, course bundles, affiliate marketing, and a sales tracker.
LearnWorlds offers a site builder that lets you create your site from scratch or from a theme. Overall, we found LearnWorlds’ website builder to be very customizable and powerful. It's best for those who want to build a professionally designed site – just keep in mind that there is a bit of a learning curve.
LearnWorlds offers multiple templates for different types of pages. You can customize these pages by editing fonts, colors, the positioning of site elements, and adding animations. LearnWorlds lets you drag and drop on-page elements, which is not found in most course creation software. You can also link your social media profile icons in the footer of your pages.
LearnWorlds lets you create coupons that can be applied towards the purchase of your courses and bundles. Coupons help promote your courses and increase your revenue. When creating a coupon, LearnWorlds lets you:
- Name your coupon
- Set an expiration date
- Set the discount as a dollar amount or as a percentage off
- Customize the coupon code
- Bulk produce coupons with unique codes
LearnWorlds also lets you sell your courses in bundles at discounted prices. Course bundles offer two key benefits – they entice customers to purchase, and they increase your average order price.
LearnWorlds offers a number of features that allow you to customize your bundles. This includes basic features such as the ability to name your bundle, and upload a custom image. The platform also gives you control over the student experience – for example the ability to take students to a landing page or specific URL after they’ve purchased a bundle.
LearnWorlds lets you add affiliate partners for your courses. An affiliate is someone who gets paid for bringing new customers to your business. Having affiliates is a great way to promote your courses to a wider network of potential students.
In Learnworlds, an affiliate has to be a student who is already registered for your courses and site. You can choose how you would like to pay them, but their commission must be a percentage of the sales they generate.
LearnWorlds also captures contact information on the prospective students that your affiliates bring you. This valuable feature boosts the performance of the affiliate channel.
LearnWorlds lets you keep track of the sales and revenue made from your courses and site. This information helps you monitor how your courses are performing, and make any improvements that could increase your sales.
LearnWorlds’ sales tracker lets you view performance data by order, product, and instructor. In addition, its reports include useful metrics like cancelled sales. You can also filter the information in each section by days, months, and billing cycle.
LearnWorlds does not process payments through its own platform. However, it does integrate with Paypal and Stripe. Some advanced features are only available through Stripe – for example, the ability to charge for your courses on a subscription basis with custom time intervals. LearnWorlds charges no transaction fees, except for the Starter plan.

Efficient customer support is very important in guaranteeing a satisfactory customer experience. Overall, we found LearnWorlds’ customer support to be slightly below average. A major disadvantage is that LearnWorlds’ does not offer a live chat service.
We also found some LearnWorlds articles to be overly dense and hard to read. They do include some helpful elements – for example, images that have red boxes to make it easier to find specific features in product screenshots. We have not found articles that include GIFs or how-to videos.
