PracticeMojo Review Summary

PracticeMojo was founded in 2010 as a dental appointment reminder solution. After several years of growth, the company was purchased by ProSites in 2017. Today, PracticeMojo is used by over 1,600 dental practices.

PracticeMojo's platform offers the core features that are commonly found in patient communication systems. This includes automated appointment reminders, marketing campaigns, two-way text messaging, patient recalls, call pops, and patient reviews. One of PracticeMojo's key strengths is the ability to send communications to patients via several channels: email, text message, postcards, voice calls, and social media are all options. In addition, the company is known for its excellent customer service.

PracticeMojo subscriptions start at $199 per month. This puts the product on the more affordable end of leading patient communication systems, which typically cost between $400 and $500 per month. We found the product's price to be fair since it does not come with tools found in more advanced alternatives. This includes webchat and telehealth.

Overall, we recommend PracticeMojo to dental practices that need the tools it specifically provides and value saving a few hundred dollars per month. Practices with complex marketing needs or a larger budget might prefer alternatives like Doctible, NexHealth, or Lighthouse 360.

PracticeMojo Pricing & Cost

PracticeMojo's pricing ranges from $199 to $399 per month depending on the plan. More expensive plans include advanced features such as appointment reminders and patient forms.

  • Solo: Starts at $199 per location per month
  • Partnered: Starts at $255 per location per month
  • Managed: Starts at $399 per location per month

Marketing Campaigns

PracticeMojo has tools that allow you to send campaigns to patients through email, text message, and social media. The system comes pre-loaded with hundreds of templates for multiple campaign types including appointment follow-ups, birthdays, recare, same-day reminders, patient reactivation, and new patient referrals.

After choosing a theme, you select the marketing channels you want to use and edit the messages for each channel. The system allows you to insert dynamic content into messages. As you can see below, this includes patient information, practice information, greetings, and appointment dates.

Two-Way Text Messages

In addition to campaigns, you can use PracticeMojo to manage two-way text messaging conversations with patients. To start a conversation, you have to navigate to the patient's profile in PracticeMojo. You can create a new text message from scratch or use an existing message template. In addition, PracticeMojo allows you to send text messages to multiple patients at once.

Appointment Reminders

Appointment reminders are one of the most valuable tools offered by PracticeMojo. The platform can be used to send automated appointment reminders via email, text message, postcard, and automated voice calls. The system integrates with your practice management system to make sure campaigns are sent to patients at the right time.

PracticeMojo comes with a set of pre-built campaign templates that you can customize. These messages can input dynamic content. In addition, you can fully customize the timing of each message in your campaign. For example, you can send a reminder email one month and one day prior to an appointment and follow up with a text message reminder the day of the appointment.

Patient Recalls

The same system that PracticeMojo customers use for appointment reminders can be used for patient recalls. These campaigns are sent to patients who are overdue for planned treatment. One of the benefits of PracticeMojo is that recalls can be sent via email, postcards, text message, and automated voice calls.

It's important to note that this feature is only compatible with the Dentrix G5, G6, G7, Eaglesoft 18+, and Open Dental practice management systems.

Call Pops

PracticeMojo's Managed Plan also includes call pops, which appear on your computer screen when a patient calls your office. These call pops, known as Smart Caller ID, include patient information like their name, next appointment date, and payment information. Call pops ensure that front office staff have up-to-date information and can provide excellent customer service to your patients.

While PracticeMojo does not produce and sell its own VoIP phones, it does have a partnership with Mango that allows your practice to use their VoIP phones at a discount. The call pop feature is compatible with any VoIP phone system that your practice uses.

Patient Reviews

PracticeMojo allows you to solicit reviews from patients immediately following their appointment. You can ask patients to leave reviews on popular websites such as Google, Facebook, Yelp, and Angie's List.

In addition, PracticeMojo provides a link that you can use to display your patient reviews on your website. As you can see below, you can choose which reviews you would like to have visible on your website.

PracticeMojo Patient Reviews

PracticeMojo's reviews tool can also be used to run patient surveys. One of the most popular surveys is a Net Promoter Score, which calculates how satisfied your patients are. These surveys are an effective way to generate insights into how you can improve the patient experience at your practice.

Online Forms

PracticeMojo's Managed plan also comes with online forms that patients can complete in a HIPAA-compliant portal. Patients can fill out these interactive forms prior to appointments to provide your practice with critical care information. The system provides a link to forms that are automatically placed into communications such as appointment reminders.

Reporting

PracticeMojo uses the data in its system to produce performance reports. The company holds quarterly meetings with its customers to review this information, find insights, and create campaigns to improve performance.
